A Guide to Spirit GuidesWho and What are These Entities?
There is much talk, in this New Age, about Spirit Guides. It is important to understand these influential beings and their role in your life.
The word Entity, used as a noun, is defined by Webster's Dictionary as 'that which is perceived or known or inferred to have its own distinct existence (living or nonliving)'. When it is used in conjunction with Spirit Guides it refers to one or more Beings who are involved with your life; healing, protecting and guiding you on a spiritual level through your sojourn in this physical life. Little VoicesComedians like to poke fun at people who hear little voices in their heads. Psychologists and psychiatrists find it disturbing when a client talks about those little voices. But when you first hear your Spirit Guide speak it won't be a lot of noise that you hear, or conflicting tones and words. Psychic Sylvia Browne describes the experience in her book Contacting Your Spirit Guide by saying: 'It's not some soft, ethereal, melodic tone - rather, it's high-pitched and a fast, almost chipmunk-like sound to it.' If the voices in your head are many, confusing and seemingly contradictory then they are not Spirit Guides but the result of an emotional imbalance that may require professional help. VisionsIt is possible, from time to time, to catch a glimpse of your Spirit Guide or Guides. Their demeanor and manner of dress can be anything from a flowing gown to ordinary street clothes. Their approach to you will be in a mode that is pleasing since their main goal is communication, nurturing and enlightening. There should be no fear attached to their appearance. NamesYour Spirit Guide will have a name. It may be their true name, or one you have given them. To discover this name you can, in a meditation session where you are trying to contact your Guide or Guides, simply ask them their name. It is helpful to be prepared with pen and paper when you do this in order to write down your first impression of what they said. Spell it like it sounds. If the name is difficult, or not to your liking, the Spirit Guide will accept whatever name you chose for them. Answers to QuestionsYou can ask your guide any questions you wish. They can be questions with yes or no answers or they can be more complicated. Open your mind to their answers and accept the first response even if it is unexpected. This Entity has been with you since your birth, and before, and knows your joys, sorrows, ambitions, dreams and mistakes. Their advice should be heeded unless you feel it is detrimental to your health and well being, or the health and well being of others. If you receive an answer that is destructive then it probably was misunderstood or not really from your Guides. They are there to heal, protect and to lead you down a spiritual path toward God. Only good can come from their instruction. Further StudyThe website crystalinks.com can assist you in learning more about your Spirit Guides.
