It's surprising but true: the process for channeling divine guidance is simple. After a few practices sessions, most people can access these valuable spiritual skills.

Think you’re psychic? You probably are. And, even if you’ve never had a strong sense of the intuitive — you too are a likely candidate for receiving “sixth sense” information through a variety of methods.

Clairvoyance: Seeing with Clarity

In her books You are Psychic and Extraordinary Psychic, author Debra Lynn Katz outlines the process for receiving clairvoyantly (seeing images in the mind’s eye) with amazing simplicity.

Katz uses the concept of a visual screen in the mind’s eye, as one method for seeing images. With a little practice, notes Katz, most people are able to access this skill quickly and easily.

Clairaudience: Channeling Words

For those who are visual, clairvoyance is an easy task using Katz’s method. For those who are verbal, channeling words clairaudiently, either as an outer voice or “in the mind’s ear” may be an easier process.

For best results, the channel will enter a self-induced trance state that moves his or her consciousness to a slightly different layer than experienced in meditation or prayer.

Finding the exact location of this psychic layer can be difficult until you’ve been there, but one you’ve “gone into the field” as many experts call this realm, you’ll understand what the sensation of this level of trance feels like, and can return to it easily with each practice.

Some new age music CDs, such as "Martyrs of Sound’s Mantra Chill" and other chanting and tonal music, is specially designed to help people go into trance.

The Art of Psychic Listening

In clairaudience, messages are receive primarily with words. Often messages are delivered by angels, as experienced by best-selling author and angel expert Doreen Virtue. Other entities may also come forward to deliver messages.

This author, after receiving The 33 Lessons, a 120-page channeled writing with similar content to Course in Miracles, consistently receives from three distinctive entities with unique characteristics, who deliver spiritual teachings. The transcribing of this information was similar to the experience of Neale Donald Walsch as he received Conversations with God.

Channeled Writing: The Process

If you would like to learn to do channeled writing, the process is quite simple. While in the beginning, it is best to work with a support person who has experience with the process, you may also try it on your own.

Many people do well receiving in writing with a pen and notebook, but those who are fast typists (and who can type with their eyes closed) will do best with a laptop.

The process in a nutshell, is first to enter trance, and then to ask to receive. You may receive messages that are personal in nature, such as guidance for questions you have. Or, you may receive messages that speak to lessons of soul growth. The key is to write down exactly what you hear, even if it doesn’t particularly make sense.

When you are done receiving, simply ask to “close the channel” and make an effort to return to normal activities, such as taking a walk, getting outside, doing chores and other grounding activities.
