There are different enticements for people to use in order to lure a fairy.
Although fairies are more prominent in the Celtic culture, the belief in and sightings of fairies come from all over the world. Children supposedly see more fairies than adults because it is alleged that fairies love the laughter of children. With the increase in popularity of Tinkerbell and the growing number of books on fairies, such as the Rainbow Magic series, more children, (and even adults,) are trying to see fairies. From objects, to food, to music, there are different things that people can do to try to entice a fairy to show itself. Although the following has no scientific basis, believers claim the following can help make a fairy appear. Food for FairiesFairies love sweets. Candy is one of their favorite foods. Unwrapped candy, especially chocolate, is a wonderful invitation to the fairies. They also enjoy honey, cookies, sweet fruit, and sweet cream. Be careful on hot days not to let the cream sit out too long as it will sour quickly. Objects for FairiesFairies adore shiny objects. Try placing some brightly colored, shiny stones in the yard. They also love pennies. Another item fairies enjoy are crystals. Hang some crystals off branches of the tree. In addition, tie colorful ribbons around trees. Where to Find FairiesFairies thrive in nature. They particularly enjoy flowers in a garden. They can also be found where streams divide, near ponds, at water fountains, or even by house plants. They are much more prevalent in the country than they are in the city. However, even in the city, they can be found in parks. Contacting FairiesMusic and dancing are pleasing to fairies. They enjoy watching people dance and music such as A Midsummer Night's Dream, Swan Lake, and Sleeping Beauty. They are also content just having people sing to them. When trying to contact a fairy, the best times are at dusk or dawn. Using the above mentioned incentives, sit down in an area where fairies will most likely be. Quietly talk to them, letting them know how much it would mean to see them. They need to feel safe before they will allow themselves to be seen. How to Know if Fairies are AroundThere are several signs to know if fairies are making contact. It could be a flicker of light caught off the corner of the eye, sudden chills when there is no wind around, or the feeling of being touched when no one is around. Don't be discouraged if nothing happens the first time. Fairies need to gain a person's trust. If unable to see them with one's eyes, try closing the eyes and see if any kind of mental image comes to mind. As children are more likely to see fairies than adults, encourage children not to give up. Even if a child is never able to see a fairy, a child can still find wonderment in the attempt to see one Sources:
