The popularity of 'The Secret' is undisputed, but few are aware of one of the key sources of its inspiration, a channeled group of entities known simply as 'Abraham'

Regardless of your spiritual persuasion or dogmatic bent, you likely will be familiar with the term 'channeling' , the spiritual process of a human being becoming a vessel of divinity which an entity or entities speak through. The practice itself is ancient and countless kingdoms rose and fell from the advisements of such oracular testimony (such as the Oracle of Delphi) , for better and for worse.

What is lesser known is that the popular DVD 'The Secret 'initially was inspired much through the works and writings of Abraham, a collective entity that moves through the woman known as Esther Hicks.

Who is Abraham?

Abraham is the name of a self-described "group consciousness from the non-physical dimension" that is channeled through an attractive and rather unassuming woman named Esther Hicks. Seeking the cosmos through various methodologies and persuasions, Esther was initially not someone who believed or cared much for the idea of channeling. It was not until she took up the practice of meditation in her later years that the energy of Abraham appeared and made itself known to her.

The Basic Teachings of Abraham

After acclimating yourself to the teachings of Abraham, it's easy to discern how they inspired 'The Secret'. Initially, Jerry and Esther Hicks were interviewed at great length and included in the first release of the DVD. After legal issues ensued, they gracefully bowed out of the production issuing a formal statement and leaving on the best of terms with the movie's producers and crew.
