In response to What Does New Age Mean to You? posted by Migisi:Well as best I can figure "New Agers" believe in Spirit Communication, Spiritual Healing and the Psychic aspect. Some believe in reincarnation, others in star seed and indigo children and still others believe in UFOs and Alien contact.
They have a "do it yourself type spirituality" that is as unique as each one of them is. Some are more on the fringes that the others. Most are genuine seekers, some are kooky and many are (like me) just pissed off Spiritualists who have left the church.
These folks do not buy into religious dogma and control and they question anyone who places themselves in a position of authority over others in terms of Spirituality.
They are not sheep and they don't join in easily and that is why religious fanatics from whatever path find them to be a threat. I would say they are excellent catalysts for shaking up the status quo and very much needed in religious and spiritual circles today.
